Job Title: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
Location: Iju-Ota, Ogun State (Housing available if needed)
Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday (Saturdays are typically half-days)
Salary Range: ₦150,000 - ₦250,000 Monthly
About the Role
We're building a service company that helps high-potential consumer brands grow through Nigeria's modern retail market. As we scale, we need someone who can work at the intersection of business development and executive support driving revenue growth while ensuring operational excellence.
This role combines strategic business development with high-level administrative support, working closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams. You'll be responsible for expanding our brand partner network while building systems that enhance productivity and performance across the organization.
This is not a traditional assistant or pure sales role, it's a high-leverage opportunity to work at the center of a fast-moving startup, learning business operations while directly contributing to revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Brand Partner Development
- Contact and qualify a minimum of 20 potential brand partners daily using existing databases and new outreach methods
- Build and maintain productive relationships with brand partners through regular communication
- Track interactions, follow-ups, and pipeline progress toward clear weekly conversion targets
- Conduct bi-weekly brand partner outreach calls to address issues, communicate appreciation, and ensure satisfaction
2. Sales Support & Performance Analysis
- Monitor daily activities across the sales team using internal tools
- Identify performance gaps, wins, and bottlenecks through data analysis
- Prepare and deliver concise daily reports with key insights, concerns, commendations, and recommendations
- Document and escalate integrity and performance issues immediately
3. Retailer Relationship Management
- Conduct 10+ daily retailer thank-you calls to confirm delivery satisfaction, personnel interactions, and payment adherence
- Monitor and take action to ensure overdue and at-risk debts remain within set limits
- Respond to emails, calls, and inbound inquiries within 24 hours
4. Data Management & Systems Optimization
- Maintain accurate product and client data across all platforms
- Upload and manage product images, SKUs, brand, and retail information
- Flag and resolve data inconsistencies and errors promptly
- Create tools, design systems, and implement policies to increase productivity and profitability
5. Executive Support & Special Projects
- Take on high-priority tasks directly from the CEO's plate
- Lead initial screening and shortlisting of candidates for key roles
- Present structured candidate evaluations and drive recruitment processes
- Coordinate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure cross-functional alignment
- Handle special projects including bank deposits, equipment purchases, and document management
6. Financial Controls & Reporting
- Design and implement internal controls to ensure sales personnel expenses are justified
- Generate, analyse, and submit accurate reports as required
- Support financial oversight and budget management activities
