Role Overview
We are hiring a high-impact Business Development & Operations Manager to fuel FoodHutz's growth and operational excellence across multiple cities. This role goes beyond spreadsheets—it's about building scalable systems , acquiring the right partners , and orchestrating day-to-day logistics to ensure service quality and long-term success.
You will design and execute strategies that drive user acquisition, merchant satisfaction, rider efficiency, and market dominance.
Key Responsibilities
? Business Growth & Revenue Strategy
- Define and execute ambitious growth strategies targeting new markets , merchant verticals , and food segments .
- Drive city-by-city launch models and rollout playbooks for expansion.
- Develop data-driven sales funnels , pipeline forecasts, and win/loss analyses. Deliver growth KPIs: order volume, GMV, bookings, merchant retention, and CAC.

?️ Operations Management
- Manage and scale daily business operations across delivery, reservations, customer service, and logistics.
- Build dashboards and SOPs for merchant onboarding , order routing, SLA tracking, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to improve the automation of operations .
?️ Vendor (Merchant) Onboarding Strategy
- Create and manage a structured merchant onboarding framework —from pipeline to platform activation.
- Develop merchant materials: training kits, menu guides, image upload templates, SLA agreements.
- Launch in-platform support systems for real-time assistance and operational training. Ensure merchant success metrics: order frequency, service uptime, and review scores.

? Rider Fleet & Logistics Operations
- Lead rider recruitment, background checks, training, and onboarding workflows.
- Build a dispatch strategy with clear routing algorithms , incentives , and compliance monitoring .
- Set up performance reviews for rider efficiency, drop rates, delivery timing, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) partners where necessary.

? Sales Strategy & Execution
- Build an in-depth B2B and B2C sales strategy : prospecting, lead qualification, CRM flow, objection handling.
- Design commission structures, referral incentives, and upselling tactics for vendor and rider signups. Set clear KPIs for your team including merchant growth, conversion timelines, and customer acquisition cost.

? Leadership & Team Management
- Hire, train, and mentor sales reps, account managers, rider ops agents, and support personnel.
- Create a performance culture with regular 1:1s, feedback loops, and aligned KPIs. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing to execute projects.

? Tracking, Analytics & Insights
- Own end-to-end dashboards tracking business health, revenue performance, customer lifetime value, and operational bottlenecks. Present regular insights and recommendations to the CEO and board for data-led decisions.

? Food Events & Pop-Ups Management
- Plan and manage branded food events , merchant showcases , and community activations to boost awareness.
- Build partnerships with local venues, influencers, and councils for high-impact visibility. Turn events into lead generators for both vendors and users.

Requirements
✅ Must-Haves:
- Track record of launching or scaling a startup or new business unit from scratch.
- 5+ years experience in business development , operations , or strategy , ideally in food delivery , logistics , or tech-driven marketplaces .
- Hands-on knowledge of CRM tools , sales automation , and operational dashboards.
- Experience building and scaling teams across multiple business functions. Strong project management, execution speed, and attention to operational detail.
- Nice to Haves:
- Prior experience in restaurant tech , cloud kitchens , rider logistics , or hospitality SaaS .
- Experience in community or event-driven marketing .
- Familiarity with UK & Nigerian food delivery landscapes .
- Working knowledge of API-driven or platform-enabled B2B ecosystems.
