Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager – Downstream to lead business growth initiatives within the petroleum and energy distribution sector. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, identifying new revenue streams, and driving strategic partnerships across the downstream oil and gas value chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in fuel distribution, lubricant sales, storage, and retail operations.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive market share and revenue.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with oil marketers, depot operators, logistics partners, and retail station owners.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activities to inform decision-making.
- Lead negotiations, structure commercial deals, and close contracts with clients and partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, logistics, finance) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Provide regular business reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and stakeholder meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (MBA is an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development or sales within the downstream oil and gas sector.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian petroleum marketing landscape.
- Strong track record of achieving sales and business growth targets.
- Excellent networking, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, strategic thinker with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
