Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for creating, planning, coordinating, and executing custom events and activities. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the event centre has its own custom activities throughout its calendar year. The Business Development Manager will recommend and manage event schedules. The ideal candidate will liaise with the Sales & Marketing Manager, to ensure the smooth, successful and profitable delivery of each event. The Business Development Manager will support the overall operations of the venue. The Business Development Manager will help ensure that all events meet the centre’s standards for excellence and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design a variety of niche events that align with the venue's brand and community interests and develop a rolling event calendar to be reported as often as needed (e.g., monthly and/or quarterly).
- Communicate proposed events to Sales & Marketing Manager for marketing, sales and calendaring purposes.
- Create inventory of event materials and support the team in logistical coordination, such as transport, accommodation, or guest management when needed.
- Oversee event activities from pre-event planning, through execution, and post-event evaluation.
- Prepare and manage budgets for each event to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor programme activities during events and quickly resolve any issues that arise.
- Prepare post-event reports, recommendations, and improvement plans for both the management and the public.
- Identify, liaise with and manage vendors such as decorators, caterers, entertainers, facilitators, and artisans, negotiate pricing, coordinate logistics, and ensure all quality standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of each event: profitability, activities, outcomes, client satisfaction and vendor agreements.
- Other responsibilities, as may be assigned by the organisation.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in event planning, programme coordination, or a similar role.

General conditions
Work Mode: Full Time, Hybrid ( 4 days a week including some Saturdays)
Work Hours: 9am-5pm Tuesdays - Saturdays
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₦300,000.00 - ₦350,000.00 per month
