Summary: We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated Science, Computer, English and Maths teachers to join our dynamic team at a reputable primary school in Abuja, Nigeria. As a teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various subjects to primary school students, fostering their academic growth, and promoting a positive and engaging learning environment. An ideal candidate should possess NCE or B.Ed.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the Nigerian national curriculum for each subject assigned. Ensure that lessons are engaging, age-appropriate, and cater to the diverse learning needs of the students.
Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organised and disciplined classroom environment conducive for learning. Encourage active participation and manage student behaviour to create a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Subject Expertise: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the subject matter being taught, including Physical and Health Education (PHE), English, Mathematics, Home Economics, and Basic Science/Technology. Stay updated with the latest educational developments and methodologies related to the subjects.
Assessments and Evaluation: Regularly evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects. Provide constructive feedback and progress reports to students and parents, identifying areas of improvement and implementing suitable interventions.
Individualised Instruction: Cater to the unique learning styles and abilities of individual students by adopting differentiated teaching strategies and providing extra support to students who may need it.
Extracurricular Involvement: Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities related to the subjects, such as science fairs, language clubs, and sports events, to enhance their overall development.
Collaboration: Work closely with other subject teachers, school administrators, and support staff to foster a collaborative and cohesive learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and curriculum planning sessions.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, addressing their concerns, and providing updates on student progress and academic performance.
