Backend Developer (Contract Role)
We’re looking for a backend developer to support a moving early-stage project on a contract basis. The ideal candidate has experience working on multi-user platforms involving listings, or transactions — and can own backend architecture from the ground up.
Role Overview
- Contract Type: Short-term (with potential for ongoing work)
- Budget: ₦250,000 (fixed for initial phase)
- Location: Remote
- Start Date: Immediate
- Timeline: 4–6 weeks for core implementation
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement a clean, scalable backend system
- Build and document APIs for core workflows (e.g. listings, pricing, scheduling)
- Implement vendor/user authentication (email, Google, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams
- Ensure performance, security, and maintainability
Tech Requirements
- Proficient in Node.js, Django, or Laravel
- Experience building RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
- Familiar with MongoDB, Firebase, or PostgreSQL
- Bonus: Experience integrating payments, auth, or other third-party tools
Ideal Experience
- You’ve worked on platforms that involve listings, and transactions
- You understand how to handle user roles, pricing logic, and scalable architecture
- Bonus if you’ve helped ship or scale an early-stage digital product
Possibility for Ongoing Work
This first phase covers core backend implementation. If things go well, we’re open to longer-term engagement across feature development, internal tools, and platform scaling.
