We’re currently looking for a passionate and motivated Android Developer Intern to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in mobile app development while working on impactful, real-world projects.
Job Summary
As an Android Developer Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to support the development, testing, and enhancement of our Android applications. You’ll gain valuable exposure to the entire app development lifecycle and contribute to features that directly impact users across Nigeria.
This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, passionate about Android development, and ready to grow in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and testing new features for our Android applications.
- Collaborate with designers and developers to implement intuitive and functional user interfaces.
- Help troubleshoot bugs and contribute to debugging and performance optimization tasks.
- Learn and apply Android development best practices under the guidance of senior developers.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions to improve technical knowledge and output quality.
- Stay updated on the latest Android trends, tools, and best practices.
- Write clean, readable, and maintainable Kotlin or Java code with mentorship and support.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Some experience with Android development using Kotlin or Java (via school projects, personal apps, or bootcamps).
- Familiarity with Android Studio and the Android SDK.
- Basic understanding of Android UI components, lifecycle, and navigation.
- Knowledge of how Android apps interact with backend APIs (RESTful services).
- Willingness to learn and grow in a team-oriented development environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jetpack Compose or other modern Android frameworks.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- Interest in ride-hailing, mobility, or transportation technology.
- Previous internship or collaborative project experience.
