Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Welder to join our Lagos project team for the NiishEnergy Project. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in Stick Welding (SMAW) or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), be proficient in CAD drawing interpretation, and possess the technical skills to deliver high-quality welds in line with project standards. You will work closely with engineers, fabricators, and quality teams to produce precision metalwork that meets strict specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding using Stick Welding (SMAW) or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques.
- Read, interpret, and work from CAD drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment safely.
- Cut, join, and repair metal components as per specifications.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and QA/QC teams to meet deadlines.
- Report technical issues and progress to supervisors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years welding experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in CAD for reading and interpreting designs.
- Strong skills in Stick Welding (SMAW) or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Knowledge of welding safety procedures, codes, and inspection methods.
- Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
