Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sustainability Lead to support the development and execution of impactful sustainability strategies and environmental management initiatives. This role combines strategic environmental work with content creation and communication, making it ideal for someone passionate about sustainability, storytelling, and environmental performance.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in environmental management and content marketing, with a strong ability to research, write, and communicate complex sustainability topics across digital platforms. Experience with SEO, social media, and multimedia formats such as podcasts is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Strategy & Implementation
- Support the design and implementation of sustainability strategies aligned with the organisation’s environmental goals.
- Contribute to the adoption of sustainable practices across business operations, with a focus on carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and compliance.
- Monitor environmental performance and prepare reports highlighting achievements, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and certifications.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging sustainability innovations, and regulatory changes.
Content Creation & Communication
- Develop engaging and accurate sustainability-related content for blogs, articles, newsletters, reports, and website pages.
- Research and script content for podcasts and webinars; assist in producing multimedia content.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all communication materials.
- Write and optimize SEO-driven content and metadata to boost discoverability and engagement.
- Create and schedule social media content across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), and TikTok.
Collaboration & Research
- Conduct interviews with internal experts and stakeholders to develop thought leadership content.
- Work cross-functionally with design, marketing, and environmental teams to align messaging with campaigns and initiatives.
- Support the development of sustainability reports and public disclosures by gathering data and insights.
Qualifications
- 4–8 years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related field, with content creation experience preferred.
- Strong writing portfolio demonstrating the ability to communicate technical or complex topics clearly.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems, sustainability practices, and relevant regulations.
- Experience with SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console) and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
- Familiarity with podcasting or public-facing multimedia is a plus.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Communications, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
