Job Summary
The Store Officer is responsible for the efficient management of raw materials, finished products, and other inventory items used in the production process. This role ensures proper documentation, safe storage, accurate stock levels, and timely issuance of materials to support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies, ensuring they meet quality and quantity specifications.
Properly label, store, and arrange raw materials, packaging items, and finished goods for easy access and safety.
Issue materials to production based on approved requisitions and maintain accurate stock records.
Update inventory management systems daily to reflect current stock levels.
Conduct routine stock counts and report discrepancies or stock shortages to the supervisor.
Monitor storage conditions to prevent damage, contamination, or deterioration of goods.
Ensure proper documentation of all stock transactions (inflows and outflows).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store area in line with safety and operational standards.
Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure stock availability and reduce downtime.
Assist in preparing monthly inventory and stock reconciliation reports.
Requirements
OND/HND/B.Sc. in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2–3 years of experience in storekeeping, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Good knowledge of inventory control and basic accounting principles.
Familiarity with inventory software or ERP systems is an advantage.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and handle physical aspects of storekeeping.
