About Heroes Help
Heroes Help is a volunteer-led charity supporting members of the Nigerian Armed Forces—serving personnel, veterans, and their families. We operate nationally through six directorates and a network of State Coordinators to deliver impactful programmes in mental health, welfare, rehabilitation, education, and livelihood.
Role Overview
We are seeking committed individuals to serve as volunteer State Coordinators in each of Nigeria’s 36 states. The State Coordinator is Heroes Help’s primary representative at the state level, responsible for local programme delivery, volunteer management, and community engagement in line with national priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Heroes Help’s key representative and spokesperson in the state.
- Identify local needs and adapt national programmes accordingly.
- Deliver initiatives such as mental health support, education, rehabilitation, and welfare aid.
- Recruit, manage, and support state-level volunteers.
- Build and maintain relationships with military bases, veterans’ groups, and community leaders.
- Oversee service delivery, training, and outreach. Keep accurate records and report regularly to national leadership.
Essential Requirements
- Strong leadership and community coordination skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in resource-limited settings.
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for the armed forces community.
- University degree in social sciences, public administration, community development, or related field.
- Proven experience leading teams or community projects. Basic computer literacy and ability to produce reports.
Desirable
- Experience with military, veterans, or nonprofit sectors.
- Knowledge of humanitarian or development programme delivery. Proficiency in local languages.
