Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Installer to join our team. The Solar Installer will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires technical skills, physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver high-quality renewable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and bolt structural framing and solar modules.
- Ensure solar panels are properly oriented, angled, and securely mounted.
- Connect solar panels to the electrical system (in collaboration with licensed electricians).
- Inspect and test installed systems for functionality and safety.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair system performance issues.
- Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety protocols.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas cleanly and safely.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate project status with supervisors and clients.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred).
- Prior experience in solar installation, roofing, or construction is an advantage.
- Ability to work at heights, on rooftops, and in various weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
Preferred Certifications (a plus):
- First Aid/CPR certification.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor/rooftop job sites, requiring frequent climbing, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Travel to project sites may be required. Work schedule may include evenings or weekends depending on project timelines.
