· Adequately takes care of the vehicle.
· Periodically escalate on pressing issues for repairs or corrections on the vehicle.
· Checking of vehicle to be safe and roadworthy after servicing/repairs were carried out. Specifically ensuring that serious defects like injectors and clutches are fully and correctly functional.
· Ensure all loads are properly strapped.
· Engage in safe driving acts and adhere to all safety rules and regulation or road regulations.
· Report the expiration of vehicle documents and ensures that they are promptly renewed.
· Make sure that the company assets in his/her custody are always safe.
· Where involved in the movement of stocks, ensure that the stock received tallies with the details on waybill.
· Ensures that stocks are promptly delivered intact to destination and ensures that the waybills are promptly endorsed at the receiving end.
· Ensures that all documents relating to stock transported are promptly deposited with the official responsible for the receipts for safe keeping.
· Drives within the approved driving time of the business and utilize approved parking spot for overnight parking.
· Adherence to all customer site requirements for both loading and offloading sites as agreed in SOP.
· Any/all instructions relating to the day-to-day duties as may be communicated by the direct manager or fleet controller.
· Report any unsafe situations or behaviour observed in the cause of carrying out duties.
· Always make use of PPE and adhere to safety measures and such as: the use of 24 corner plates/ ratchets every time the truck is loaded; compulsory use of seat belt whenever on a journey; ensure trucks are park only at safe truck park at the end of each day work; desist entirely from fuel pilfering and tampering with devices (tracking); only quality Fuel should be purchase per time for the use of MDs trucks
