Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Salon Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations at EllaSpace Salon. The ideal candidate will be a skilled professional with expertise in braiding, plaiting, and related hair styling techniques, coupled with strong leadership, client consultation, and business management skills. This role requires a balance of hands-on styling, team management, and client-focused service to ensure the salon’s success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of stylists and support staff to deliver outstanding service and maintain a cohesive, professional team environment.
- Client Consultations: Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their preferences, lifestyle, and hair care needs, specializing in braiding and plaiting techniques to create bespoke styles.
- Hair Styling Expertise: Perform advanced braiding, plaiting, and related hair styling services, ensuring high-quality, customized results that align with client expectations and current trends.
- Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day salon operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, hygienic, and professional environment.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure exceptional client experiences by addressing queries, resolving complaints, and fostering long-term client relationships.
- Financial Management: Oversee salon financial performance, including meeting revenue targets, controlling costs, and driving sales of products and services.
- Marketing & Promotions: Develop and implement promotional activities to attract new clients and retain existing ones, leveraging social media and local marketing strategies.
- Trend Awareness: Stay updated on the latest hair care products, braiding/plaiting techniques, and styling trends to maintain the salon’s competitive edge.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations, maintaining a safe and professional workspace.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the beauty industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role within a salon or spa setting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in braiding, plaiting, and related hair styling techniques (e.g., cornrows, box braids, twists, and other cultural or protective styles). Cosmetology or hairdressing certification from an accredited institution (e.g., Aveda Institute, Paul Mitchell Schools, or equivalent) is required.
- Client Consultation: Proven ability to conduct detailed client consultations, tailoring services to individual needs and preferences.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising and mentoring stylists.
- Business Acumen: Experience managing salon operations, including financial performance, inventory, and scheduling.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with salon management software and Microsoft Office for administrative tasks.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in specialized braiding or styling techniques.
- Experience with high-net-worth or celebrity clientele, delivering bespoke services in varied settings.
- Knowledge of social media marketing to promote salon services and build brand presence.
