Job Description
We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to support purchasing department by managing administrative and operational tasks related to procurement.
Purchasing Assistant that would have broad responsibilities about FMCG, ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, maintain supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Support:
- Assist in researching, selecting, and evaluating suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery time.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels to anticipate purchasing needs.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to track inventory movements and minimize shortages or overstock.
Documentation and Records:
- Maintain updated records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts.
- Ensure procurement activities are documented and organized.
Vendor Relations:
- Communicate with suppliers to negotiate terms, resolve disputes, and build long-term relationships.
- Monitor vendor performance and recommend improvements.
Cost Management:
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery terms to achieve the best value.
Administrative Tasks:
- Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, budgets, and savings.
- Support the purchasing manager or team in day-to-day operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong multitasking and organzational abilities.
- Advance knowledge of MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain management and purchasing practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders and documents.
- Should be resident in these locations - Oshodi, Isolo, Airport road, Mafoluku and Ajao Estate
- Should be resident in the areas mentioned as proximity is advised.
Educational Requirements:
ND, HND/BSC in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar role is a plus.
Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional interaction with vendors and warehouses.
Salary Range:
N70,000 - N90,000 Monthly.
