JOB VACANCY: PRODUCTION CHEMIST (Oil & Gas)

Location : Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria

Experience Level: Senior (10+ years)

We are looking for a Production Chemist with deep expertise and proven industry experience to join our team and deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions that drive production efficiency and integrity.

JOB PURPOSE

The Production Chemist will serve as a specialist consultant, leveraging expert knowledge to maximize value through chemical solutions across the oil and gas production chain.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide advanced chemistry expertise to maintain and improve flow assurance, technical integrity, and product quality across the entire production system.
• Independently select and evaluate new chemistries with zero supervision.
• Troubleshoot complex production challenges and recommend effective, tailored chemical solutions within the oil & gas environment.
• Conduct crude oil bottle testing and organize field chemical trials autonomously.
• Independently blend both commodity and specialty chemicals for production optimization.
Deliver upstream chemical solutions that unlock additional barrels and improve operational productivity.

REQUIREMENTS Qualifications:

• A minimum of BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Petroleum Engineering .
  

Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years’ hands-on experience working in the oil & gas industry.
  

Key Competencies & Skills:

• Expertise in solid deposition management , corrosion control , gas/glycol treatment , water treatment , and chemical selection and application .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions with minimal oversight.
Excellent field and laboratory skills in testing and blending chemical formulations.
