Role Description The Practice Manager is responsible for the overall management and administration of the law practice’s operations, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This role involves overseeing administrative staff, managing office procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, supporting financial management, and contributing to strategic planning and business development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Office Management
- Oversee daily operations of the law practice to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain office procedures, systems, and policies.
- Manage calendars, court dates, meetings, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Supervise the administrative team and ensure smooth workflow across departments.
2. Human Resources & Staff Management
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training of administrative staff.
- Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Mediate workplace issues and promote a healthy work environment.
3. Financial Oversight
- Work with accountants to manage budgets, billing, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and control operational expenses and procurement.
- Ensure prompt client invoicing and follow-up on payments.
- Assist with trust accounting and compliance.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with legal practice regulations, including NBA guidelines
- Maintain the practice’s management policies and procedures.
- Oversee file audits and ensure accurate recordkeeping and case management.
5. Business Development & Client Relations
- Support client onboarding and maintain client care standards.
- Manage client communications, satisfaction, and feedback.
- Prepare proposals, pitches, and engagement letters.
6. Technology & Systems
- Oversee IT systems, liaising with vendors and ensuring systems are up to date.
- Ensure secure data storage and management practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field (LL.B or legal background is an advantage)
- Minimum of 3–5 years experience in a law practice or professional services environment
- Experience in staff management and office administration
- Knowledge of legal practice management and regulatory requirements
