Company Description

Founded in 2022, United Front for Development and Climate Action (United Front Africa) is a youth-led non-profit organization on a mission to empower communities to thrive in the face of climate change. We work at the intersection of governance, development and climate change; leveraging the combined power of innovation, technology, and the energy of young people to drive inclusive progress across Nigeria. United Front envisions a Nigeria where every community is safe, resilient, and progressing toward sustainable development.

Role Description

As a member of the Board of Advisors (BOA), you will play a strategic and supportive role in guiding United Front Africa's vision, amplifying its impact, and contributing to its long-term growth and relevance. Advisory Board Members serve in a non-governing, non-fiduciary capacity, offering expert advice, mentorship, and high-level engagement to support the organization’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice on programs, partnerships, and organizational growth.
  • Leverage your networks and expertise to support fundraising, visibility, and advocacy efforts.
  • Mentor and guide young leaders within the organization.
  • Participate in annual advisory roundtables and other engagements as needed.
  • Serve as a champion of the organization’s mission across local, national, and international platforms.
Offer thought leadership on emerging issues in climate, development, and governance.

? Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking well-respected and passionate individuals who meet the following criteria:

Required:

  • Proven track record in at least one of the following: climate action, development policy, governance, youth leadership, environmental law, philanthropy, technology for development, or related fields.
  • Strong alignment with the mission, values, and vision of United Front Africa.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic advice and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to actively participate and support the organization’s goals.

Preferred:

  • Experience serving on boards, advisory panels, or leadership councils.
  • Familiarity with community-led initiatives or youth-focused organizations.
  • Access to professional or donor networks that can support United Front Africa.

? Term of Service

  • Initial term: 2 years, renewable based on mutual interest and engagement level.
  • This is a voluntary position (non-remunerated), with recognition and opportunities for public visibility and sector influence.
