- We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive HSE Supervisor with a strong background in the oil and gas sector, particularly in process and gas plant operations.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards across site operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements, and fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all HSE activities on site to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Lead and participate in Permit to Work (PTW) coordination, ensuring proper risk assessments and control measures are in place.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Perform risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JSA), and hazard identification (HAZID) exercises.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and KPIs.
- Provide HSE training, toolbox talks, and safety inductions for staff and contractors.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of HSE records and reports.
- Support process safety initiatives and ensure alignment with operational safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, coaching, and visible leadership.
- Any other responsibility as may be assigned by the HSE Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of HSE experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of process and gas plant operations.
- Proven experience in PTW coordination and control of work systems.
- Proven experience in construction environments.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or OSHA will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
- Strong understanding of incident investigation techniques.
- Good knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiar with emergency response planning and drills.
- Membership of a professional body will be an advantage.
