We are seeking skilled Hausa Language Annotators for a linguistic project involving audio

transcription and translation. The ideal candidates will have native-level proficiency in

Hausa and strong command of English (minimum B2, ideally C1 or C2 level) to accurately

transcribe and translate audio content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Listen to Hausa audio recordings and transcribe them verbatim in Hausa using accurate spelling and grammar.
• Translate the transcribed Hausa text into English, ensuring contextual and cultural accuracy.
• Follow linguistic guidelines and quality standards provided by the project team.
• Review and proofread work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Native or fluent Hausa speaker with excellent listening and writing skills.
• Strong English proficiency (B2–C2 CEFR level) – able to understand and translate complex sentences and idiomatic expressions accurately.
• Prior experience in audio transcription and/or translation is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
• Reliable internet connection and access to a quiet workspace.
Familiarity with transcription tools or software is a plus.

Additional Information:

• Candidates will be required to take a language proficiency and task-based test before

onboarding.
