Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Specialist to mentor and develop aspiring GRC professionals through our intern coaching program. In this role, you will bridge the gap between theory and practice, equipping interns with real-world skills in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks. You will design case studies, guide projects, provide personalized coaching, and create practical resources that prepare interns for successful GRC careers.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching and Mentorship
- Lead regular team sessions and one-on-one coaching to guide interns through their GRC learning journey.
- Provide insights into leading standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, SOX, and GDPR.
- Explain core GRC concepts, including risk registers, control testing, compliance audits, and policy development.
Project Guidance
- Supervise and review GRC-focused projects to ensure quality and industry relevance.
- Offer expert advice on regulatory requirements, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Encourage critical thinking and ethical approaches in project delivery.
Case Study and Solution Development
- Create scenario-based case studies on enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
- Develop model solutions and walkthroughs to help interns understand how to approach GRC challenges.
Outreach and Awareness
- Deliver informational sessions to promote the value of GRC in modern organizations.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop educational content and increase program visibility.
Resource Creation and Updates
- Develop training materials, templates, and checklists to support GRC learning.
- Keep resources aligned with current regulations, best practices, and industry trends.
Performance Tracking
- Monitor intern performance, provide structured feedback, and highlight strengths and improvement areas.
- Work closely with other coaches to ensure consistent training outcomes.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed about emerging regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, CCPA). Collect feedback to refine the internship curriculum and enhance the coaching process.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of core experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
- Strong understanding of GRC principles, frameworks, and compliance standards.
- Experience in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, or internal audit.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to mentor and translate complex concepts into practical learning. Proactive in staying up-to-date with evolving industry regulations.
