Job Summary:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing financial processes including invoicing, tax filings, payroll, petty cash, and cashbook reconciliation. The role also involves tracking financial data, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the finance team with remittances and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Raise and manage invoices for projects.
Update the Accounts Receivables Tracker and Decommissioning Tracker regularly.
Prepare and maintain the Petty Cash Schedule.
Reconcile and update the Cash Book to reflect accurate financial standing.
Follow up Project Managers on outstanding projects not yet invoiced.
Generate Remita payment codes for VAT filing on the FIRS TAX-PRO Portal and PAYE filing on the LIRS E-TAX Portal.
Make timely remittances at the bank for VAT, PAYE, CIT (Company Income Tax), and Pensions.
Prepare the Pension Schedule for all staff and ensure monthly remittance.
Draft and process Bank Instructions for various transactions.
Prepare and process Staff Payroll accurately and on schedule.
Ensure timely Salary Payment to all employees.
Follow up with the P2P (Procure-to-Pay) team regarding payment advice.
Reconcile with bank statements and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
Proficiency with Remita, FIRS TAX-PRO, and LIRS E-TAX platforms.
Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax remittances, and pension regulations.
Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Proximity to the Office is key.
