JOB SUMMARY:
The Field Service Engineer Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to ensure the effective installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom infrastructure and equipment across assigned sites. The role ensures that field operations are executed efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with company goals for uptime and service excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily activities of Field Service Engineers across multiple telecom sites.
- Plan and coordinate field operations, ensuring timely response to faults, preventive maintenance, and network upgrade activities.
- Monitor performance KPIs including SLA adherence, site uptime, response time, and quality of service.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during all field activities.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and hands-on support to FSEs when needed.
- Coordinate with Network Operations Center (NOC), Logistics, and Project teams to resolve service issues and optimize resource allocation.
- Validate and approve field reports, job completion forms, and tool usage logs.
- Manage inventory of field tools and ensure proper handling of company equipment.
- Identify training needs and coordinate skill development initiatives for the field team.
- Support audits, site acceptance, and reporting requirements for clients and management.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues and liaise with OEMs or vendors when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in telecom field operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS)
- Strong knowledge of telecom site infrastructure (BTS, microwave, rectifiers, generators, hybrid systems, etc.).
- Familiarity with power systems, DC/AC supply, ATS panels, and energy efficiency techniques.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
- Working knowledge of telecom tools, CMMS, and reporting platforms.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in remote site conditions.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent travel to telecom sites across the country (often remote areas).
- Use of protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
