Job Description/Requirements
We are currently looking for a seasoned Drilling Contracts Analyst/Consultant with a minimum of 10-15 years cognate experience in oil and gas drilling contracts management from cradle to grave.
About the Role:
As a Drilling Contracts Consultant, you shall report to the Drilling Contracts Manager and support all tendering and contracting activities necessary for the award of contracts as it relates to Company’s drilling activities.
Key Responsibilities are as follows:
Supplier Qualification & Selection: Oversee supplier qualification processes, evaluate technical and commercial capabilities, and recommend suppliers for award in line with company requirements.
Tender Preparation & Administration: Coordinate the end-to-end tender process, including the preparation of tender packages, opportunity phase documents, and bid clarification responses, ensuring completeness and compliance with company standards.
Bid Evaluation & Approval Process: Lead techno-commercial bid evaluations, coordinate technical assessments, resolve bid inconsistencies, and secure internal and external approvals as per Company’s procedures.
Vendor Engagement & Negotiations: Support the engagement with vendors, conducting negotiations to secure optimal commercial and contractual terms.
Regulatory & Policy Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with NCDMB regulations, Nigerian statutory requirements, and internal governance frameworks, engaging with regulators as necessary.
Contract Award & Documentation: Prepare and review recommendations for contract awards, draft and finalize contracts, and ensure proper execution and record keeping.
Contract Execution & Delivery Oversight: Monitor contract execution, support material delivery, and assist internal customers to resolve execution challenges to maintain timelines.
Supplier Relationship Management: Facilitate supplier performance review meetings, address post-award issues promptly, and maintain productive vendor relationships to drive vendor performance.
Reporting: produce accurate weekly activity reports, and ensure all assignments are delivered within agreed timelines and performance expectations.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commerce, Business, or Supply Chain Management; alternatively, a degree in another field with a Post Graduate Diploma in Contracts & Procurement or Supply Chain Management and at least 5 years’ experience in a Multi-functional C&P Manager role or similar. Master’s degree or Post Graduate Diploma in a relevant supply chain field is desirable.
Professional Membership: Membership in recognized procurement, supply chain, or contracts management professional bodies preferred.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ oil and gas industry experience with at least 8 years in procurement or supply chain management in Drilling and Subsurface Contract Category Procurement Roles.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of NCDMB guidelines and other Nigerian statutory requirements related to procurement and contracting.
Team & Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams, fostering collaboration and minimizing conflict.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare, analyze, and present complex procurement data.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail in all procurement and contracting activities.
