Heroes Help is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting members of the Nigerian Armed Forces—serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Operating nationally through six directorates and a network of state coordinators, we deliver impactful programs in mental health, welfare, education, and livelihood.
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Director of Fundraising & Business Development (Volunteer) to lead income generation and growth efforts. This senior role is key to ensuring financial sustainability and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic planning and delivery of a diversified, sustainable fundraising strategy
Advise the CEO and Board on income opportunities, risks, and growth planning
Oversee fundraising functions: grants, corporate partnerships, events, and individual giving
Cultivate high-value donor relationships and local/international partnerships
Champion innovation, ethical fundraising, and donor stewardship
Ensure income targets align with program needs and long-term strategy
Represent Heroes Help to donors, stakeholders, and funding agencies at executive levels
✅ Requirements:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Development, Fundraising, or related field
At least 5 years in senior fundraising or business development roles
Proven success in securing diverse funding (grants, partnerships, donors)
Strong leadership, strategy, and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to transparency, ethics, and impact measurement
Desirable:
Experience working with boards or senior stakeholders
Familiarity with fundraising compliance, due diligence, and global donor trends
Postgraduate training in nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, or philanthropy
