ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a Digital Marketing Manager to lead and manage our online marketing efforts. Your main goal will be to grow our user base across countries like the U.S., U.K., Canada, Europe, and Africa. You will handle everything from paid ads to social media, influencers, and user engagement strategies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will:
- Plan and manage digital ads on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, and Snapchat.
- Focus on acquiring new users and making sure they keep using the app (activation, retention, and engagement).
- Track important marketing numbers such as cost per user, user lifetime value, and return on ad spend.
- Test and improve ads, images, content, landing pages, and channels to get the best results.
- Use tools like email, push notifications, and in-app messages to bring users back to the app.
- Create a marketing calendar for key dates like Valentine's Day, Christmas (Detty December), summer migration, and app feature launches.
- Use tools like Google Analytics, Appsflyer, and Meta Ads dashboards to track how ads are performing and where users are coming from.
- Research competitors and create strategies for entering new countries.
- Work with the product team to test new features like referrals, waitlists, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with the creative team to create region-specific ads and marketing materials.
- Lead and track marketing reports weekly and monthly to share progress and plan next steps.
- Find, train, and manage community influencers in major cities like Toronto, London, New York, Lagos, Accra, and Nairobi.
QUALIFICATION:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably for mobile apps or African/diaspora-focused platforms.
- Strong experience running ads on Facebook, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and App Stores.
- Knowledge of tools like Google Analytics (GA4), Mixpanel, Amplitude, and Appsflyer/Adjust.
- Proven experience working with influencers and tracking their performance.
- Great with writing copy and evaluating creative content that works.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with big growth goals.
- Deep understanding of African and diaspora communities – culture, language, religion, and migration stories are all important to us.
SUCCESS METRICS (Set KPI)
- Achieving target cost-per-install and cost-per-acquisition in different regions.
- Increasing the number of active users and improving user retention (Day 1, 7, and 30).
- Building a strong influencer network and getting value from each collaboration.
- Growing the number of verified and paying users.
- Launching high-performing campaigns that attract serious, relationship-minded users.
