Job purpose
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Design and Brand Officer to lead the development and maintenance of high-quality visual assets and ensure consistent application of our brand across all touchpoints.
This role is responsible for producing visually engaging designs for digital and print materials, building and maintaining branded templates, and supporting internal teams with creative resources. You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments to bring campaigns, programmes, and reports to life through compelling visuals, upholding the professional identity of The AVOCADO Foundation at all times.

Brand Management, Templates & Asset Control
- Develop and maintain branded templates (e.g. Canva, PowerPoint, reports) that are easy for internal teams to use while staying on-brand.
- Oversee the visual consistency and branding of the organisation’s website, ensuring design elements, imagery, and tone align with brand guidelines and are regularly updated to reflect current campaigns and priorities

- Support staff and collaborators in applying brand elements correctly and confidently in their materials.
- Organise and manage a centralised design and asset library, including icons, logos, photos, and templates. Conduct quality control and final checks on all materials to ensure technical accuracy and readiness for publishing or printing.
Innovation, Trends & Brand Evolution
- Stay informed about current trends in design, visual communication, accessibility, and branding within the non-profit and creative industries.
- Recommend new formats, styles, tools, or visual approaches to improve the effectiveness and engagement of our content.
- Where applicable, support light-touch motion graphics or interactive content creation (e.g. social reels, animated elements for presentations). Contribute to any brand refreshes or updates by advising on visual direction and rolling out updated materials.

- Attend team meetings, events, and other staff commitments. Participate in ongoing training, supervision, reflective practice and appraisals.
Working conditions
This is a hybrid role with flexible hours. Regular attendance at meetings is expected. Evening or weekend work may be required in order to meet deadlines.
The job description may be updated from time to time with other duties and responsibilities to meet the evolving needs of the organisation. It is not intended to be rigid or inflexible but should be regarded as providing guidelines within which you are expected to work.
The Charity operates an entire shutdown each year in August and December and requires all employees to take annual leave to cover this period of time. This period is not in addition to annual leave entitlement, so employees need to retain sufficient annual leave to cover this period. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient annual leave entitlement remains each year available for this period. Employees who do not have sufficient entitlement remaining should speak to their line manager about other available options.
Probation period: Six months.
