The role ensures that credit decisions are well-informed, compliant with regulatory standards (e.g., CBN guidelines), and properly documented from approval to disbursement and monitoring.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Credit Analysis Functions:
- Evaluate credit applications for individuals and SMEs, including financial analysis, credit scoring, and risk assessments.
- Conduct background checks, analyze cash flows, bank statements, and other financial records to determine creditworthiness.
- Recommend credit decisions with clear risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed credit proposals and present them to the Credit Committee.
- Ensure compliance with the bank’s credit policy and CBN regulations in all credit evaluations. Monitor the performance of approved credits, track early warning signals, and flag deteriorating exposures.
Credit Administration Functions:
- Manage the documentation and processing of approved loans, ensuring all required documents are complete and correctly filed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit files and records.
- Ensure that all pre-disbursement conditions are met before disbursing loans.
- Monitor post-disbursement activities, including loan repayment schedules, insurance, and collateral management.
- Generate periodic reports on credit portfolio performance, including aging analysis and non-performing loans (NPLs).
- Assist in regulatory reporting and internal audit requirements related to credit. Support recovery efforts by working with account officers and legal teams on delinquent accounts.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in credit analysis and/or credit administration within a financial institution or retail bank.
- Certifications (added advantage): Credit risk management certifications, ICAN, ACCA, or CIBN.
