- The Community Health Worker works under the supervision of the nursing officer to deliver high quality care to patients.
- The job holder assists nursing officers in assessing patient's condition.
Employee’s Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Medical:
- Check and record patient's vital signs such Weight, Height, blood pressure, temperature and respiration rate.
- Assist to improve patient adherence to treatment regimens.
- Assist the Nursing officer in providing basic medical and preventive care.
- Assist in providing care for patients requiring nutrition, mental health, and prenatal care.
- To maintain highest standard of health education of client.
- Efficient in educating babies and adults.
- Ensure compliance to clinical governance in ANC and Immunization.
- Efficient in chaperon of patients to various consulting rooms.
- Record patient information in computerized logs
- Ensure all activities carried out in ANC/Immunization are documented.
- Perform other duties as assigned to you by senior leadership.
Maintenance:
- Regular equipment checks and call for maintenance.
Health and Safety:
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in compliance with Lily hospitals' health and safety policy and statutory regulations.
- Ensure a clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients, clients and members of staff to help reduce infection
Requirements
- Certificate of training as a community health worker (CHEW)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Valid practice license from the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria
- Fluent in any local language and proficient in written and spoken English
