Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)

Job Summary
Our client, a well-regarded healthcare provider, is seeking qualified and dedicated Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) to join their team. The ideal candidates will play a vital role in delivering primary healthcare services, promoting health education, and supporting disease prevention initiatives within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic preventive, curative, and health-promotion services in the community.
- Conduct health education sessions on hygiene, nutrition, family planning, immunization, and other public health issues.
- Carry out routine home visits to monitor and support patients, especially mothers and children.
- Administer immunizations and monitor child growth and development.
- Identify and refer cases requiring advanced medical attention to appropriate healthcare facilities.
- Maintain accurate health records and reports for community health activities.
- Support maternal and child health services, including antenatal and postnatal care.
- Participate in community outreach programs and health campaigns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve health outcomes in the community.
Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Community Health Extension from a recognized institution.
- Valid license and registration with the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) or relevant regulatory body.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in a community health setting (optional).
- Strong understanding of public health practices and community engagement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
