Why This Role is Special

We’re offering an equity-first CTO-level leadership role, a core team leader with direct ownership and influence.

We’re wrapping up our pilot phase and entering full-on growth mode. We've proven product-market fit, built strong goodwill with landlords, managers, and tenants, and we’re forming key strategic partnerships to support scale and distribution.

We’ve validated that there’s real demand for what we’re building.

Now we need someone to own the tech strategy and execution.

The role is equity-compensated at the start, with a shared commitment to introducing salary as we hit key financial milestones, revenue growth and/or funding. That’s the goal we’re actively working toward, and we want a CTO who can help us get there.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead Engineering Strategy & Execution : Architect scalable systems, identify and close any gaps in our current infrastructure.
• Build & Scale the Team : Attract, mentor, and manage a team of ambitious engineers.
• Set Engineering Culture : Drive best practices, quality standards, and agile workflows.
• Ship With Purpose : Translate vision into execution. Build what matters, fast, but right.
• Collaborate with Founders : You’ll be part of Porchplus leadership, involved in key decisions from product to partnerships.
  

You Might Be a Fit If You...

• Have 5+ years of senior software engineering or tech leadership experience
• Know how to architect scalable, secure systems and can spot (and fix) tech debt
• Are comfortable being hands-on while guiding a growing team
• Are passionate about real estate, fintech, or building for emerging markets
• Have strong interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills
• Work well independently, and thrive in the ambiguity of early-stage startups
