Job Description/Requirements
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the church is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all financial activities and functions within the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board of Trustees. The CFO plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity, sustainability, and compliance of the church in support of its mission and objectives.
Required Skill Sets
- Must be a Christian.
- Excellent knowledge of local and international financial reporting requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for not-for-profit organizations.
- Familiarity with tax principles, regulatory compliance, and internal control frameworks applicable to charitable entities.
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and formulate strategic recommendations.
- Proficiency in using office productivity tools and financial management software.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable.
- Evidence of attending financial management courses or seminars. Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
