About the Role:
A well-established secondary school in Ipaja, Lagos is looking to hire a competent and passionate Basic Technology Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching foundational technology concepts, fostering students’ interest in technical and engineering principles, and preparing them for both internal and external examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach topics such as technical drawing, basic mechanics, energy systems, tools and materials, etc.
- Introduce students to practical aspects of technology through demonstrations and hands-on activities.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Prepare students for BECE and other standardized exams.
- Participate in school events, training, and academic planning sessions.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or B.Ed. in Technical Education, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a secondary school.
- Good understanding of the Basic Technology syllabus and assessment methods.
- Skilled in using teaching aids and relevant educational technology tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Must be resident in or able to commute easily to Ipaja, Lagos.
