Overview
We are looking for an ethical, thorough, and detail-oriented Accountant with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, trustworthy, and able to multitask effectively.
The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all financial data is recorded accurately and on time across ledgers, and journals.
- Maintain up-to-date monthly financial records and reconcile accounts daily.
- Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial reports and budgets.
- Track company expenses, and payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Ensure company records comply with tax and regulatory requirements
- Keep up with changes to tax and regulatory laws that impact the business.
- Identify inefficiencies in our accounting/financial processes, and recommend improvements to optimize operations.
- Serve as a contact between the company and external parties (auditors, tax authorities).
- Implement and enforce financial controls and best practices to safeguard company assets.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management; experience in a fintech company is an added advantage.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant legislation.
- Proficiency with Zoho Books.
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and efficiency, especially when multitasking.
