Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant.
- Experience working in a financial industry an added advantage.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets (Excel) and financial reports.
- Excellent organisational and data analytics skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Relevant certifications such as ICAN (foundation level), or other accounting certifications will be an added advantage
Job responsibilities
- Downloads and saves Statements on the drive monthly or as requested by the Accounting Lead.
- Records all and manages all Receivables and Payables.
- Budget Tracking; Keeps track of money received and spent by the respective departments.
- Maintains the Assets, Depreciation Schedule, and Asset verification exercise.
- Maintains the Prepayment Sheet.
- Manages the Journal.
- Follows up on all expenses and ensures all source documents are collected and documented accordingly.
- Ensures that the PAYE tax is accurately calculated and paid to the bank.
- Any other subsidiary reports required for financial reporting.
