We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant & Assistant Manager to join our team at a medium scale luxury hotel based in Atta Ikeduru, Imo State. This hybrid role reports directly to the CEO and dotted into the site manager but combines financial management with operational leadership, ensuring smooth day-to-day hotel operations while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting strategic growth.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure proper handling of funds
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Track guest payments, deposits, and refunds
- Resolve billing discrepancies and maintain vendor relationships
3. Operational Support
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance teams
- Ensure smooth daily operations and address guest concerns promptly
- Step in during manager absences to maintain service continuity
4. Staff Supervision & Training
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of junior staff
- Monitor staff performance and promote a culture of accountability
- Help implement cost-effective scheduling and labour management
5. Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, tax regulations, and hospitality standards
- Support internal audits and implement corrective actions
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and guest data
6. Guest Experience & Service Recovery
- Handle guest complaints with professionalism and empathy
- Support front desk operations during peak hours
- Promote a welcoming and clean environment for all guests
7. Inventory & Procurement
- Monitor stock levels for supplies and amenities
- Coordinate with vendors for cost-effective purchasing
- Maintain accurate inventory records and minimize waste
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Hospitality Management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel accounting or operations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Pay: ₦50,000.00 - ₦75,000.00 per month
