Job Summary
Angala Fintech is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to lead the creation of product documentation across our fintech platform. In this role, you'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and compliance teams to produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation—including API references, developer guides, internal policies, and customer-facing materials. If you can translate complex technical concepts into accessible content and have experience writing in fintech or tech-driven sectors, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Documentation Development
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including:
- API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman)
- Developer guides (SDKs, integration manuals)
- User manuals (end-user guides, FAQs)
- Internal process documentation (engineering workflows, compliance policies)
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry regulations (PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC 2).
2. Collaboration with Teams
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather technical details.
- Interview subject-matter experts (SMEs) to extract complex information and simplify it for different audiences.
- Review and edit content from other teams for clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
3. Compliance & Security Documentation
- Assist in preparing compliance reports, security policies, and audit documentation.
- Ensure all customer-facing materials adhere to financial regulations (e.g., disclosures, terms of service).
4. Documentation Tools & Processes
- Use modern documentation tools (Markdown, Git, Confluence, ReadTheDocs, or MadCap Flare).
- Optimize documentation for searchability and SEO (help center articles, knowledge base).
- Maintain a version-controlled documentation repository (GitHub, GitLab).
5. User Experience (UX) Writing
- Improve UI microcopy (error messages, tooltips, onboarding flows).
- Develop interactive tutorials (videos, step-by-step walkthroughs).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- 3+ years in technical writing, preferably in FinTech, banking, or SaaS.
Writing Skills:
- Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly for both developers and non-technical users.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with APIs, SDKs, and software development concepts.
- Understanding of FinTech compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, PSD2) is a plus.
Tools:
- Documentation: Markdown, Swagger, Confluence, ReadTheDocs
- Version Control: Git, GitHub/GitLab
- Diagramming: Lucidchart, Draw.io, or Miro
Soft Skills:
- Strong research, collaboration, and project management abilities.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with AI-powered documentation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly).
- Knowledge of payment systems, blockchain, or cybersecurity.
- Certification in technical writing (e.g., STC, UX Writing).
