Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive Chemistry lessons that align with the school's curriculum and instructional guidelines.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on experimentation.
- Teach a range of chemical concepts and topics, such as atomic structure, periodicity, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, organic chemistry, and laboratory techniques.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including demonstrations, experiments, multimedia resources, simulations, and technology, to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Guide students in conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions based on scientific evidence and principles.
- Encourage students to apply chemical knowledge to real-world scenarios, make connections to other scientific disciplines, and develop problem-solving skills.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and support individualized learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate Chemistry with other subjects and promote a holistic understanding of scientific principles.
- Stay updated with current scientific research, technological advancements, and pedagogical approaches to continually enhance teaching methods and content knowledge.
- Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and guardians to promote open communication and a positive school-home partnership.
Requirements:
- A strong practicing Spirit-filled Christian, with a deep commitment to Christian values and principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in Chemistry or related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry or related subjects at the secondary school level.
- In-depth knowledge and passion for chemistry, with expertise in specific areas of the field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports academic growth and personal development.
- Proficiency in integrating technology, lab equipment, and multimedia resources into Chemistry instruction.
- Commitment to laboratory safety and adherence to proper handling and disposal of chemicals.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest scientific research and pedagogical approaches.
