Job Description/Requirements
Position Summary
The Project Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing civil engineering aspects of assigned real estate development projects. The role requires ensuring that designs, construction, and installations meet technical specifications, quality standards, timelines, and budgetary requirements. The position demands strong technical knowledge, site supervision skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in developing project execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Review architectural, structural, and civil designs for compliance and constructability.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on technical issues.
2. Construction & Site Supervision
- Oversee site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, quality standards, and HSE regulations.
- Monitor contractors’ progress against timelines and budgets; provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Supervise civil works including foundations, slabs, drainage, roads, and utilities.
- Ensure quality control of materials, workmanship, and finishing.
- Conduct inspections and resolve technical/site challenges promptly.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare project documentation including RFIs, progress reports, site instructions, and variation orders.
- Support tendering and procurement processes through BOQs, cost estimates, technical specifications, and bid evaluations.
4. Stakeholder & Regulatory Management
- Liaise with planning and regulatory authorities for permits and approvals.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
- Ensure alignment between site execution and project development goals.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce adherence to company HSE policies and statutory requirements. Promote and sustain a safe work environment on-site.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Certification: COREN/NSE membership or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: 3–7 years’ relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, and project delivery (preferably in real estate development).
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of structural design, building construction, and civil works.
- Knowledge of local building codes, planning regulations, and urban infrastructure.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
