Job Summary

We are seeking a pediatrician specializing in the health and care of infants, children, and adolescents, from birth up to 18 years of age. We need experts in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of conditions that affect children, including illnesses, injuries, and developmental issues.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • To provide a service for children on the site in neonatal pediatrics. This includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department as per the job plan.
  • Shared responsibility with the other pediatricians for providing 24-hour, 7-day-a-week coverage.
  • To take responsibility for patients on the local neonatal unit on the relevant service weeks, liaise with nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team, e.g., labor ward, pharmacists, lab scientists, etc.
  • To be aware of and deal with safeguarding issues as required.
  • Carry out outpatient duties with appropriate administration and patient follow-up.
  • Be aware of and assist in divisional objectives through clinical work, e.g., electronic discharges within 24 hours and infection control
  • Participate in nurse teaching as appropriate.
  • Undertake monitoring and appraisal of junior staff within everyday practice and take part as an educational supervisor (with appropriate training)
  • Participate in continuing professional development at local and national levels.
  • Implement audit and research findings as appropriate in clinical practice.
  • Support the Trust to deliver quality patient care according to Trust Principles
  • Contribute to the development of clinical and organizational protocols and guidelines.
  • Comply with all hospital policies.


Requirements:

  • MBBS qualification
  • Minimum of 1 year experience


Work Schedule:

  • 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
  • Room and board provided
