Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Operational Resource to join our Payment Operations team. This role is critical to ensuring smooth payment processing, merchant management, and risk mitigation across our platform. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of responsibilities including merchant lifecycle management, fraud monitoring, transaction reviews, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities Merchant Management:
- Execute end-to-end merchant onboarding, including documentation review, compliance checks, and account setup
- Conduct periodic reviews of merchants for risk, compliance, and performance
- Create and configure Merchant IDs (MIDs) in line with business and risk requirements
- Disable/suspend MIDs as needed due to compliance issues or policy violations
Transaction Operations:
- Monitor transaction flows for anomalies, errors, or compliance issues
- Investigate and resolve transaction-related issues and inquiries
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal processing standards
Risk and Fraud Management:
- Maintain fraud monitoring protocols and systems
- Review suspicious transaction patterns and escalate when necessary
- Implement fraud prevention strategies in collaboration with the risk team
Chargeback Management:
- Assess chargeback claims and identify representment opportunities
- Monitor chargeback trends and ratios
- Coordinate with relevant teams for documentation and response
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Liaise with acquiring banks and internal teams to resolve operational issues
- Communicate merchant account status and compliance updates
- Work closely with settlement, compliance, legal, and risk teams
Operational Excellence:
- Keep accurate documentation of all processes and activities
- Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, AML, KYC, and other industry standards
- Contribute to process improvement and system upgrades
- Provide support during scheduled maintenance or unplanned issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–4 years in payment processing, fintech operations, or financial services
- Solid understanding of payment processing systems, card networks, and acquiring banks
- Familiarity with chargeback procedures and fraud management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with platforms like Stripe, Adyen, or WorldPay
- Certifications in payments or fraud prevention
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR)
- Knowledge of SQL or data analysis tools
- Project management experience
