Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor (Mid-Level) will be responsible for managing subcontractor rates, monitoring progress of works, and ensuring all completed works are accurately measured and valued in line with project specifications. The role involves preparing interim and final payment certificates, maintaining cost control, and ensuring timely processing of payments. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical and negotiation skills, proficiency in cost estimation and valuation, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, manage, and update subcontractor rate schedules.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and progress to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Measure and value completed works to ensure accuracy against project specifications.
- Prepare and finalize interim and final payment certificates for subcontractors.
- Maintain strict cost control throughout project execution.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
- Evaluate variations and claims, ensuring fair and accurate assessments.
- Liaise and negotiate with clients, contractors, and suppliers on contractual and financial matters.
- Ensure proper documentation and records of all financial and contractual project data.
- Support project managers with financial insights to ensure budget adherence.
- Use industry software (CostX, MS Excel, etc.) for accurate costing, measurement, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
- Professional certification (NIQS, RICS, or equivalent) preferred.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, measurement, and valuation principles.
- Proficiency in industry software (CostX, MS Excel, and related tools).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost reporting.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractor relationships and project costs effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦250,000.00 - ₦350,000.00 per month
