Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Shift Engineer to oversee and maintain the smooth operation of mechanical systems within our mining facility. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience in equipment maintenance, and the ability to work efficiently in a shift-based environment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mining machinery and mechanical systems
- Ensure efficient operation of equipment to minimize production interruptions
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures to maintain operational safety
- Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to optimize performance
- Implement and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and parts inventory
- Identify potential mechanical issues and propose solutions proactively
- Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure compliance
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the mining or heavy industrial sector
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance
- Ability to work under pressure in a shift-based system
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Understanding of safety regulations in mining operations
