Job Summary
NUE Offshore Resources Limited is a leading organization specializing in maritime security, dedicated to ensuring the safety and protection of global maritime assets. Our work spans across vessel security, anti-piracy operations, and compliance with international maritime laws. We are seeking a highly skilled corporate Legal to join our team and ensure our operations adhere to all relevant legal frameworks, while effectively managing legal risks in the maritime domain.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and international organizations on maritime security regulations.
- Advise senior management on legal strategies, risk management, and compliance with maritime law.
- Provide legal advice and support to the organization on a range of legal issues, including contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Ensure compliance with legal frameworks, including maritime laws, regulations, and guidelines .
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and best practices in legal matters.
- Monitor and renew certifications as at when due to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with legal policies.
- Manage and resolve legal related disputes and issues.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits related to legal matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on legal matters.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in legal management.
