We’re hiring a Lead Frontend Engineer (React / Next.js) to take ownership of refactoring and introducing best practices to our large-scale Next.js application. This is the primary objective of the role. You will define and enforce architectural standards, improve maintainability and performance, and ensure our frontend codebase can scale with our rapidly growing enterprise-level SEO intelligence platform.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with deep technical expertise in Next.js, proven experience modernizing large applications, and the ability to mentor engineers while making high-impact architectural decisions.
Responsibilities

• Lead a refactor of a large-scale Next.js application, improving architecture, performance, and maintainability
• Define and maintain architectural patterns and state management strategies for enterprise-grade frontend applications
• Standardize coding practices, component structures, and testing approaches across the frontend team
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews for frontend engineers
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to align frontend architecture with business and UX goals
• Profile and optimize application performance, including server-side rendering, client-side hydration, and asset loading
Ensure consistent adherence to SEO, accessibility, and performance standards

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in frontend engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record of maintaining, refactoring, and scaling large Next.js applications.
• Deep expertise in Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture and large-scale state management (including MobX).
• Experience delivering enterprise-level web products with high performance and maintainability requirements.
• Skilled in working with design systems, reusable components, and responsive UI development.
Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design teams.

Salary & Benefits

• $4,000-$4,500 USD per month/depending on your location and skills/experience
