Job Purpose:
To plan, deliver, and assess engaging and challenging Home Economics and CCP lessons that equip students with practical life skills, creativity, cultural appreciation, and knowledge in line with the school’s curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Home Economics and Creative & Cultural Practices, ensuring alignment with the national and/or international curriculum.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources tailored to different learning abilities.
- Teach practical skills such as cookery, nutrition, food safety, textiles, interior decoration, and basic home management.
- Facilitate CCP topics including arts, crafts, culture, and creative design projects.
- Integrate life skills, entrepreneurship, and cross-curricular links into lessons.
2. Assessment & Reporting
- Develop and administer appropriate assessments, tests, and practical assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare and submit termly reports, grades, and comments in line with school policies.
3. Classroom Management & Student Support
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Manage practical sessions with proper use of equipment, materials, and safety guidelines.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, responsibility, and independent thinking among students.
4. Curriculum Development & Enrichment
- Contribute to reviewing and updating the Home Economics and CCP curriculum.
- Organise exhibitions, competitions, and cultural events to showcase student work.
- Incorporate modern trends, technology, and sustainability practices in lesson delivery.
5. Professional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and continuous professional development sessions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student learning.
- Uphold the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, Creative Arts, Education, or related field.
- Teaching qualification (PGDE, B.Ed., or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Home Economics and/or Creative Arts subjects.
- Strong practical skills in cookery, sewing, craft-making, and cultural project execution.
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦160,000.00 - ₦180,000.00 per month
