We are looking for a General Manager in Nigeria to lead our growth and operations in Nigeria.At Conduit, we believe in a world where anyone can frictionlessly send and receive any asset at any time. As we expand our presence across Africa, we’re looking for an entrepreneurial General Manager in Nigeria to lead our regional strategy, business development, and operations.
Our company is globally distributed, offering the opportunity to collaborate with teammates around the world. This role requires availability to work and attend meetings during Eastern Time (North America) business hours.
About You
You are a self-starter with strong business instincts and a deep understanding of the Nigerian financial landscape. You’re passionate about fintech, crypto, and solving real-world problems through infrastructure. You’ve built and led teams, launched commercial efforts, and know what it takes to grow a market from the ground up. You’re resourceful, hands-on, and can execute quickly with limited resources.
About the work:
This is a foundational hire for Conduit in Nigeria. You will be responsible for leading go-to-market efforts, hiring and managing a local team, and building strong relationships with enterprise clients and partners. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping our strategy for the Nigeria <> Global corridor.
Responsibilities:
- Own the Nigeria P&L and deliver against revenue and growth targets
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategy to drive adoption of Conduit’s cross-border payments infrastructure
- Cultivate strong relationships with enterprise clients, fintechs, banks, regulators and ecosystem partners
- Act as the face of Conduit in Nigeria, representing us in market and with regulators when needed
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Compliance, and Engineering teams to ensure client needs are met
- Drive regulatory awareness and ensure local operational compliance in partnership with global legal and compliance teams
- Gather market intelligence and feed insights back into Conduit’s overall product and expansion roadmap
- Experience in full sales cycle and have the ability to execute pipeline strategy
- Personable and natural relationship builder
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience Required:
- 7+ years of experience in business leadership, sales, or strategy roles, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services
- Strong network across the Nigerian fintech and financial ecosystem
- Proven track record of owning and scaling a market or business line
- Ability to operate independently and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Deep knowledge of the local regulatory landscape
- Experience managing cross-border payment flows or FX operations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker with a bias for execution
Nice to have:
- Experience working with or within crypto, DeFi, or blockchain infrastructure
- Prior startup or early-stage company experience
- Familiarity with stablecoins or digital asset products
