Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our construction company, while serving as a key liaison between, site teams, senior management, and clients. The ideal candidate will act as an extension of the Managing Director — taking ownership, solving problems, and driving operational excellence across multiple projects. This role requires strong leadership, deep construction expertise, and the ability to align project performance with company objectives.
Beyond operational oversight, the General Manager will play a critical client-facing role, ensuring transparency, timely reporting, and alignment between project execution and client expectations. The ability to build and maintain strong relationships, negotiate effectively, and provide strategic insights will be essential in delivering high-quality projects while fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations across all construction sites and departments.
- Develop and implement operational systems, processes, and best practices to support project execution and company growth.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
- Lead planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and subcontractor management.
- Proactively identify operational risks, inefficiencies, or bottlenecks — and drive resolution.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with HSE policies, statutory regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Support procurement, logistics, and workforce deployment for maximum efficiency.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
Business Responsibilities
- Attend client meetings, make presentations, negotiate bills, and provide quality client reports.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making, business planning, and client relationship management.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication, satisfaction, and alignment with project goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Minimum of 10–15 years hands-on experience in construction operations and project management with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of project planning, cost control, contract management, and quality assurance.
- Strong business acumen — must be able to think and act like a business owner.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and self-motivation.
- Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office Suite, and construction scheduling software.
