As we scale our work across Africa, we’re seeking a strategic, mission-driven Fundraising & Partnerships Manager to lead our resource mobilization efforts and sustain our transformative programs.

Key Responsibilities1. Fundraising Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising roadmap to raise $500K+ annually within 2–3 years
- Set and track quarterly/annual fundraising goals, monitor KPIs, and prepare regular progress reports
- Design diversified income streams: grants, major gifts, CSR partnerships, events, and individual giving campaigns
- Collaborate with program and comms teams to align messaging and impact stories
- Identify new funding opportunities across local and global markets
2. Grant Acquisition & Management
- Research and pursue high-value local and international grants
- Write compelling, data-driven proposals for six-figure funding opportunities
- Build and manage a grant pipeline and reporting calendar
- Maintain strong relationships with institutional funders
3. Major Donor & Corporate Partnerships
- Identify and cultivate high-net-worth individuals and corporate sponsors
- Build long-term donor relationships leading to large, multi-year gifts
- Develop donor engagement strategies to improve retention and grow giving levels
- Ensure timely, personalized donor communications and reporting
4. Systems & Team Building
- Lay the foundation for a scalable fundraising department
- Build and manage donor databases, CRM systems, and funding pipelines
- Recruit or oversee part-time staff, consultants, or interns as needed
5. Campaigns & Visibility
- Design and execute creative donor campaigns and fundraising events
- Collaborate with the communications team on fundraising content and decks
- Represent CAIN at donor meetings, conferences, and sector events
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations
- Proven ability to personally raise $200,000+ annually across diverse funding sources
- Excellent grant writing and proposal development skills with measurable success
- Strong grasp of donor strategy, nonprofit budgeting, and financials
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working in lean, fast-paced, mission-driven teams
- Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce or Bloomerang (a plus)
- Bonus: Experience working with global funders, education-focused nonprofits, or tech-driven NGOs
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- By Year 1: Raised $150K–$250K and established a solid funding pipeline
- By Year 2: Raised $250K–$500K+, secured multi-year grants, and built sustainable revenue streams
- Expanded CAIN’s donor base and global visibility
Compensation & Growth
- Salary: ₦300,000 – ₦400,000/month (commensurate with experience)
- Performance Bonus: Based on fundraising results
- Vacation: 21 working days of paid leave annually
- Development Time: 14 weekdays for conferences, seminars, or workshops
