We are looking for a Fraud Investigator to join our Fraud team as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
As a Fraud Investigator, you will become the frontline defender of financial justice, bridging the digital and physical worlds to protect our customers' dreams from those who would exploit them. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and traditional investigative work, you'll translate digital evidence into real-world action, pursue justice through Nigeria's streets and courtrooms, and ensure that every fraudulent scheme meets its match in determined, methodical investigation.
At M-KOPA, fraud investigation isn't just about catching criminals—it's about preserving the integrity of financial inclusion. In this role, you will transcend traditional investigation to become a strategic guardian of community trust. You will orchestrate complex field operations that don't just solve individual cases but dismantle entire fraud networks, working closely with law enforcement, courts, and community partners to ensure our fraud prevention measures reach every corner where our customers live and work.
We believe in justice through evidence and relentless pursuit of truth. You will develop sophisticated investigative strategies, conduct thorough field investigations, and build cases that stand up in court. Your investigative expertise will be crucial in turning digital leads into criminal convictions. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where your work directly protects vulnerable communities and enables financial inclusion, and if pursuing justice through methodical investigation that blends technology with traditional detective work appeals to you, this might be the perfect role for you.
You will be reporting to the Fraud Manager.
Success in this role comes from a unique blend of investigative experience and unwavering commitment to justice. We need someone who has walked the beat of real-world investigations and understands that true fraud prevention requires both digital intelligence and boots-on-the-ground determination. Your experience should tell a story of solving complex cases that didn't just close files but protected entire communities.
We are seeking someone whose career demonstrates a deep understanding of how investigations can dismantle criminal networks. Perhaps you've worked in police, law enforcement, or fraud risk roles where you tracked down suspects, built compelling cases, and worked with courts to secure justice. Maybe you've been the investigator who turned digital leads into criminal convictions, or the one who built relationships with law enforcement that transformed how fraud cases were handled.
Your ability to track down people and evidence through traditional investigative methods should be second nature, as should your talent for working with agents, informants, and law enforcement to resolve complex cases. Experience in securing court orders and presenting evidence would give you valuable context for the legal complexities of fraud investigation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in field investigations — whether fraud, criminal, financial, or security-related. A background in law enforcement (detective, CID, or fraud unit) would be highly valued, along with a professional network in Nigeria's law enforcement or judicial system.
Most importantly, we need someone who embodies our values of integrity, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to justice – someone who doesn't just want a job but wants to be part of a mission that's protecting financial inclusion across an entire continent.
If this sounds like the challenge you've been waiting for, where your expertise in field investigations and fraud prevention can truly make a difference in safeguarding our customers' financial futures, we want to hear your story.
